Many of you are asked us how you should vote. Australia’s antisemitism crisis was an election issue, perhaps the election issue, for our community.
We cannot tell you who to vote for. ECAJ is non-partisan. We advocate for the Jewish community and its interests, and we have to work with a range of parties and politicians to do that effectively.
While we do not endorse parties and candidates, we do have firm views on issues important to our community. Our full policy platform is on our website.
We worked in a couple of ways to help you make an informed decision based on where parties and candidates stand on these issues:
In the interests of ensuring that our community is properly informed and engaged in the political process we asked the leaders of the Australian Labor Party, and the Coalition, as well as other leading candidates in electorates with large Jewish constituencies, to state their positions on matters of specific concern to Jewish Australians.
Responses from the Australian Labor Party and the Coalition
Responses from candidates in Bradfield
Responses from candidates in Goldstein
Responses from candidates in Kingsford-Smith
Responses from candidates in Macnamara
Responses from candidates in Wentworth
We partnered with local Jewish community organisations to hold federal election forums in the electorates covering the largest Jewish communities. View details of upcoming forums or recordings of past ones below:
