The Executive Council of Australian Jewry (ECAJ) today issued the following statement concerning the debate about the campaign for Boycotts Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel and the targeting of the Max Brenner chain in Australia.

Material published in ‘The Nation’, the newspaper of the Queensland division of One Nation, by consent of the editor and publisher of the newspaper, has been declared to be unlawful under the Racial Discrimination Act, in the Federal Court today.

The peak body of the Australian Jewish community is urging all Australians to reflect on racism and its horrific consequences on January 27, the day designated by the United Nations as the ‘International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust’.
