We are shocked and angered by the bombings in Jerusalem resulting in the murder of 16-year-old Canadian-Israeli citizen, Aryeh Schupak. 22 others suffered injuries after two bombs were detonated at busy Jerusalem bus stops during morning rush hour. The remotely detonated devices were packed with nails and ball bearings to maximize casualties. The terrorist attacks have been celebrated in the West Bank and Gaza and have been praised by Hamas.

We extend our sincerest condolences to the family of Aryeh and to all of the victims. May justice be swift and firm.

We also condemn the abduction and possible murder of Israeli man, Tiran Fero, who was severely injured in a car accident and taken by Palestinian gunmen from the hospital in Jenin where he was on life support. We call for the immediate release of Mr Fero’s body and for the arrest of those who appear to have caused his death.

We stand in solidarity with the people of Israel during this difficult time as they withstand the scourge of terrorism, fanaticism and hatred.
